Occupational Therapy
Our Occupational Therapists can help your child with:
- self-help (feeding, dressing, and toileting)
- fine motor and visual motor (coloring, handwriting, cutting, constructing)
- sensory integration (self-regulation, attention, and learning readiness)
- Gross motor as a groundwork for the above skills
Common Issues Treated
- Low or high muscle tone
- Muscle strength and control
- Endurance
- Balance and movement
- Visual-spatial challenges
- Oral motor/oral sensory problems
- Difficulty attending and relating to others or following directions
- Excessively seeking or avoiding certain textures, sounds, movements, visual stimuli
- Difficulty transitioning from one activity or place to another
- Anxious or resistant to new activities
- Unpredictable behaviors
- Poor awareness of surroundings or attention to detail
- Hyperactivity or lethargy
- Easily frustrated (withdrawing or showing aggression)
- Difficulty calming down or falling asleep
